Hi!

Just popping in to say "Hi and we are still here". We survived test week. Charlotte is healthy. Our sanity is (mostly) intact. Joe started his LAST rotation of his third year!  Life is all flowers and sunshine. ALL THE TIME.

Kidding. Its just life around here. But it has been a little extra sunshine-y because we have been having fun with extended family. And its finally warming up. Plus Charlotte had her first dance recital on Saturday. It was pretty stinking adorable.

I might have even shed a tear or two over the cuteness of the whole thing. Joe did not. Even Hannah and Isaiah enjoyed seeing their sister on stage.

More later. Much much more. Back to family time now. And packing. Lots of packing.

  1. Hello my name is amber.
My husband and I got married in 2012, darko at 25 and me at 21. Im a chef and he is a hairdresser & artist. Just a couple of months ago, he decided to become a surgeon. Well, to start the journey to become one. He starts community college this fall, then will transfer to a state university, then to a medical college and im sure you know the rest.. we have no children yet, and I cant help but feel like what im expecting as the wife of a medical student/doctor, is some lonly, depressing, scary shit. Not only do I fear being alone all of the time, left to hold down a house on my own, but what about children and their upbringing!? Im so scared il be doing it all alone, im about to cry right now and the mans not even IN school yet. I was wondering if you have the time, could you please post about what it was like in the begining stages of your husbands medical journey, and how it was for you as a wife/ mother/supporter? Im trying to support his dedication to becoming a doctor, but I find my self getting so nervous and depressed about how my life is going to pan out!
I enjoy reading your blog posts and I can tell they are going to be a sorce of support for me over these upcoming 8 years of medical school/ residency/ hell

    1. Glad you found me! One of my purposes of writing is to encourage other wives in the same situation. It's a long (sometimes scary) and lonely road. And I would love to write a post for you. However at the moment I am traveling solo with my kids while my husband is studying for his next boards exam. So not a lot of good writing time for me. Hang on a bit and I will write it.
