What I Write & Why I Write

As the title of this blog implies time flies when you are raising babies!  When my oldest started kindergarten it made me realize just how true my favorite parenting quote is...The days are long, but the years are short!  So I write about it.  In order to remember it.  Because quite frankly my memory is terrible! And while raising babies is often a tiring  exhausting, thankless job there are a million funny, cute and just plain enjoyable moments along the way as well.  And I want to remember them.  The good, the bad and sometimes the ugly.

I also write in order to keep family and friends (near and far) somewhat up-to-date on the happenings of our little family...and not just the picture perfect moments I share on Facebook:)

And for those who do not know me personally, but stop by my little corner of the big ole' www, especially those of you who are also raising little people, I write about real life. The struggles and joys of parenting. And hopefully by doing so I help others to feel okay in their imperfect parenting.

I do NOT write parenting advice and I certainly do not stand up on any soap boxes. Because well this just isn't the place for any of that. And the thought of me having any expert opinions is just laughable:) I do enjoy cooking and sewing so some very sub-par tutorials may pop up from time to time. Sorry. Oh and I am new to cloth diapering and kind of in the fanatic phase...so consider yourself warned!

Lastly I write because while raising three small children is time consuming, they do sleep and I needed a hobby to fill that time:) My husband studies A LOT (as is expected of a medical student), but that leaves me with time to fill.  Thus this mommy blog was born.

I hope you enjoy your visit here at The Archives.  Mostly I hope you find what you are looking for...a laugh, an encouraging word or just a "gosh I am glad I am NOT her" moment.

This is in my playroom...it seems fitting here too:)
